The POPI Act
As from the 1st July 2021, the new POPI Act or THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT will regulate the flow of information for private and public bodies.
CUSTOMER PRIVACY NOTICE
This Notice explains how we obtain, use and disclose your personal business information, in accordance with the requirements of the Protection of Personal Information Act (“POPIA”).
At Exibit Print (and including our website, http://www.exibitprint.co.za/ we are POPI Act-Compliant) we are committed to protecting your privacy, your business privacy and to ensure that your personal or business information is collected and used properly, lawfully and transparently.

The information we collect
We collect and process your business information of clients and suppliers with the main purpose to understand your business requirements, and delivering our services to you accordingly. We will collect your contact details including your name, your organisation name, business telephone number, business mobile number, business email address and business address, banking details and trading details.
We collect information directly from you via email or by means of a e-form on our website http://www.exibitprint.co.za/. On the website, the information required are marked, other information needed, but not marked is optional.
Website usage information may be collected using “cookies” which allows us to collect standard internet visitor usage information. We do not use emails campaign mechanisms.
How we use your information
We will use your personal or business information only for the purposes for which it was collected and agreed to with you. In addition, where necessary your business information may be retained for internal research purposes.
Furthermore the information may be collected to gather contact information; to confirm and verify your business identity or to verify that you are authorised to conduct business purposes; to conduct market or customer satisfaction research or for statistical internal analysis; for internal audit and record keeping purposes; In connection with legal business proceedings.
Disclosure of information
We may disclose your business information to our auditors, but have agreements in place to ensure that they comply with the privacy requirements as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act.
We may also disclose your information where there is a duty or a right to disclose in terms of law or where we believe it is necessary to protect our rights.
Information Security
We are legally obliged to provide adequate protection for personal or business information we hold and to stop unauthorised access and use of personal or business information.
Our security policies and procedures cover: Physical security; Computer and network security; Access control to personal and business information; Secure and confidential communication with clients and suppliers.
During contract with third parties, such as banks and auditors, we impose appropriate security, privacy and confidentiality obligations on them to ensure that personal or business information that we remain responsible for, is kept secure. Clients and suppliers will be notified before contact with third parties are made.
Your Rights: Access to information
You have the right to request a copy of the personal or business information we hold about you. To do this, simply contact us at 021 905 4004 (Carmen) or carmen@exibitprint.co.za as provided on our website and specify what information you require. We will need a copy of your ID document to confirm your identity before providing details of your personal or business information.
Correction of your information
You have the right to ask us to update, correct or delete your personal or business information. We will require a copy of your ID document to confirm your identity before making changes to personal or business information we may hold about you or your business. We would appreciate it if you would keep your personal and business information accurate.
Definition of personal information according to POPI
According to the Act ‘‘personal information’’ means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person. All addresses, including residential, postal and email addresses. Change of name – for which we require copies of business certification or official change of name document issued by the governmental department.
